What is bifacial in solar panels?
Bifacial means the panel can generate power from both sides; the front captures direct sunlight, and the back captures light reflected off the ground or nearby surfaces.
What is the main advantage of bifacial solar panels?
Bifacial panels produce more electricity than standard panels of the same size, since they capture sunlight from both sides instead of just one.
What is bifacial gain, and how much extra power does it produce?
Bifacial gain refers to the extra power generated from the rear side. Depending on the mounting surface and reflectivity, this typically adds 5 to 20% more output compared to a standard panel.
Are bifacial solar panels better than regular solar panels?
For most setups, yes, bifacial panels generate more power per panel due to their dual-sided design, though the benefit depends on how and where they're installed.
Do bifacial solar panels last longer?
Bifacial panels are typically built with dual glass construction, which can make them more durable and slightly longer lasting than standard glass-backsheet panels.
When not to use bifacial solar panels?
Bifacial panels aren't ideal for rooftops mounted flush against the surface with no gap underneath, since they need space and a reflective surface below to capture rear-side light.
Where to install bifacial solar panels?
Bifacial panels work best on elevated mounts, ground-mounted systems, or carports, anywhere with open space and a light colored or reflective surface underneath.
Do bifacial panels need special mounting or racking?
Yes, bifacial panels need elevated or open-frame mounting that allows light to reach the rear side, unlike standard flush rooftop mounts.
How to increase more power from bifacial solar panels?
Installing bifacial panels over a light colored or reflective surface, like white gravel or reflective roofing, increases the amount of light hitting the rear side and boosts output.
Which bifacial solar panel is best in India?
For Indian conditions, a higher wattage N-Type bifacial module, like our 580Wp to 615Wp range, offers strong output and durability for both rooftop and ground mount setups.
How long does it take to install Solar Panels?
Installation typically takes one to three days, depending on system size and whether the site needs special mounting for bifacial panels.
How do bifacial solar panels perform in different weather conditions?
Bifacial panels handle heat, rain, and varying light conditions well, and their dual glass build adds extra protection against wear compared to standard panels.
